My guess is that someone looked at the misshapen cookie she or he had just baked and figured naming it a trilobite might convince the world that its shape was intended.

Note to the many people who've arrived here after searching for "Peak Freens": The correct spelling is "Peek Freans"--try rerunning your search on that.
