This is just a wild guess, but...

I have this sneaky suspicion someone at Hewlett-Packard's ad agency is a fan of Jonathan Safran Foer.

HP is really Dr. Evil. Why? Cause their (plagerized) hand has a Mini-Me.

That was a really cool book. But it doesn't make me want to buy an HP computer.

It's the same graphic designer, that's all.

"That's all"?

Yeah, I figured out the obvious, too. But can I point out, Mr. Anonymous, that it's the same exact design and the same exact font? Copying from yourself that blatantly is still copying.

It also kind of makes sense if you've read the book...Oscar is a little "mini over-achiever". I think you're right about the graphic designer being a JSF fan, and I think this was his/her attempt at a literary inside joke. Which I love, as I too am a huge JSF fan. :)
