Freddie
Corn chips
Just put your nose to the back of his neck and inhale. Really, it's unmistakable.
UPDATE: For whatever reason, this post gets a lot of hits via Google searches. For those who are curious, once I changed my dog's food to brands that don't use corn as a filler, Freddie stopped smelling like corn chips. Merrick is one good brand with no fillers. It actually smells like people food.

It's the paws. Seriously. All dogs' paws smell like Fritos.
And we eat the Fritos anyway.
Every time I eat Fritos now, I'll think of your dog. Do the Chili Cheese Fritos smell like a Chihuahua?
When Will and I went to Mexico a few years ago, we ate what was called Chihuahua cheese. Which really conjures up an image, doesn't it? Those poor little dogs, hooked up to tiny milking machines...
Mine smells like smartfood. Seriously. But only when she's sleeping.
Smartfood? The cheese popcorn?
So the bottom line is corn. Is it because there's corn in dry dog food? Hmm.
Damn, didn't even think of that. I checked my bag of Blue Seal and waddyaknow. First ingredient is "ground corn".
I remember when I was a little kid, and I was playing with my dog, and he put his paws up, and I got that unmistakenable scent of Fritos. Now I own my own dog, and her paws definitely have the same unmistakenable scent! Her name is Bella, but sometimes my husband calls her "Frito" and commands her to "Frito, Lay!" Instead of "Bella, Down!" she gets it- somehow!
