Something in the air

I will admit an unhealthy curiosity about my page-view statistics. I check them far more often than I have any concievable reason to.

And I know you'll be shocked by this, but The Velvet Blog is not terribly popular.

Put those two facts together, and you can imagine how surprised I was a moment ago to find that I already received 100 visitors today.

My hopes rose. Did some high-traffic blog link to me?

Nope. About 90% of today's visitors had done a Google search on some variation of the phrase yogurt that helps you poop.

It's really rather humbling.

ah, the phrase Tina Fey uttered this past saturday on the News Update on SNL. Gotta love that yogurt that makes you poop.

So THAT'S why! I couldn't think of a reason why people would suddenly be searching on that phrase.

Well... aren't you going to tell us what kind of yogurt makes you poop?

Don't laugh--I was shopping for yogurt last weekend and noticed that Activia (the original poop-inducing yogurt) now has a lot of competion. Every major brand seems to be aiming someting at the market.

If that doesn't work, try Uncle Sam. There's always a frighteningly dusty box of that on the store shelves. It's been around since 1908, so someone must buy it.

You probably check your stats all the time the way lots of people do vanity searches..for a sense of being relevant...you need to do more self-cherishing. You are the only beautiful you...you matter. Read the book Awareness by Anthony de Mello...it changed my life. All good things to you!
