Smackdown!: Girl Scout Samoas vs. the island of Samoa

Image hosting by Photobucket Samoa

What?: The best cookie sold by the Girl Scouts. Caramel. Chocolate. Coconut. Cookie. Are you drooling yet?

Pros: Chewy texture. Taste. Sheer sweet deliciousness.

Cons: If you ate a whole box, there go 1,050 calories. Not that I ever ate a whole box. Really. But I'm just sayin'.

What?: Pacific island known for its beautiful beaches.

Pros: Seriously, are you looking at that picture?

Cons: Facial tattoos are kind of scary. Island is not named after the cookie, which is surprisingly hard to find there.

Winner: I'm going to have go with the cookie.

I'll pass on the coconut. What have you got with caramel?

I'm with you on the Cookie. I purposely didn't order them this year though, cause I CAN eat a whole box.

Based on sheer accessibility, the cookie has to win (never mind the perfection of caramel, cookie, coconut and a touch of chocolate).

Please, Sir, may I have Samoa?

Coconuts not my thing. But I'll take a box of thin mints, if you're sharing.

GIMCD: One more pun out of you, and I'm reporting you to the authorities. There will be punishment, I assure you.

Trina: Thin Mints are good ... but I think they're just a little bit overrated.

I don't recall ever eating a whole box, but I know I always eat way more than I intended. (One more, then I'll stop...)

Samoans are also HUGE. I mean they are BIG, men and women alike. I recall taking care of Samoan twin babies in med school -- hospitalized for RSV pneumonia, IIRC. Three or four months old, and they were big as two-year-olds.

My baby must be part samoan then....

I'm sorry,

but the image u have of the man with the tattooed face is not a samoan. it's not part of the tradition to tattoo the face...wut u do have is a pix of a (possibly and most likely) native Maori (New Zealand). Could be a native from Rapa Nui, but based on the intricate designs, I'd say he's Maori. Not trying to be anal, just clarifying things.

Cheers

Hey man,

I'm just happy to see the Maori man set you straight. I've been living in American Samoa for 3 years and never saw any Samoan with a tattoo on their face. Definitely Maori.

Sweet Jesus. Do you people not read the comments before commenting? Yes, it's been established the picture is not Samoan. Pointing this out for the sixth time is really rather stupid, no?

Comments being shut off.
