In line? On line? Are they regional? Who knew?
I used to wait in line. Now I wait on line. I hope one day to be able to queue up.
Gina: I believe "on line" is regional to NYC and environs. I'm pretty sure most of the rest of the country stands in line.
GIMC: Go to England. Why do you hate America so?
Queue is a totally cool word.
Here in the midwest, we wait IN line.
The important questions are (1) Did you try the sausage? (2) If so, did you get a promotion? (3) If not, why did you reject the possibility of career advancement represented by the sausage?
