Yet another sign of the coming apocalypse

Sentence from an Associated Press story on the fall TV season:
ABC also gave the go-ahead to "Cavemen," a comedy adapted from the Geico insurance commercials.

Coming soon to Fox: A series based on the current Charmin ads about animated bears pooping in the woods. It should pair well with Family Guy.

I'm thinking this might possibly be funny. But I'm probably wrong. Besides, if I like it, the chances it will be cancelled increase by about 1000%.

Nothing beats ABC's National Bingo Night for sheer lowness-of-brow. Retirees @ the Early Bird Dinner down Florida way is not the demographic I'm looking for, although that may soon be the only demographic left for free broadcast tee vee.

I've always liked the cavemen ads, (though some of the later ones--the news interview and the psychologist's office--left me shaking my head) but if they can come up with enough goofy situations it might be worth one season.
