Guiding principle behind my writing

Some writers are drawn to cliches like moths to a flame, but I avoid them like the plague.

And we're all happy as pigs in shit that you do.

When I notice too many cliches creeping into my writing I get nervous as a whore in church. Tend to think maybe I'm losin' it, maybe I can't cut the mustard anymore, maybe I'm over the hill. That's when I try to keep my head up and soldier on.
